I’m a California Certified Spanish interpreter and a former English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for adults. My lifelong passions include world languages, cultures, foods and, above all, the human beings that give it all such beautifully variegated expression. Diversity (a word that shares its roots with divergent, divided, etc.) might be a term that suitably sums it up. However, I find that the more we explore, investigate, care and come to know that which is often negatively framed as “other”, the more we see the overriding commonalities, arching like a bridge over the cool, refreshing waters of humanity. So, following on that visual, my motto is, “Let’s dive in!”

  1. I’ve just read several of your posts. I can’t tell you how furious I am at the injustice that is so wide spread in EVERY state. I’m from Chicago…that’s probably saying enough. The people who run the show, those in power, the ultra rich, the keepers of the status quo, will do anything to continue their greedy ways…ways that are aimed at keeping people POWERLESS. Women face violence on a never ending, daily basis as well. We all seem to be at war with each other and I don’t know what can be done to stop it because the law is written to protect the people who wrote it…not the citizens of our country. THEY have the right to do anything they like and if we fight back or in the wrong place they can beat us or kill us and they have the right to do it. They lie and try to terrify people so they can grab even more power and people just absolutely REFUSE to understand that. Well my fiend, keep fighting back. Peace to you.

  2. Hi HWB, thanks for introducing yourself by following our site. We look forward to exploring yours! If you’re on facebook we invite you to visit the RAXA Collective page. Happy New Year and see you there!

  3. I was struck by the simultaneous diversity/commonality quality of your blog – and then I got to this page! So I think you are clearly achieving what you are aiming for. But you’ve probably already noticed that!
This is a really good blog. I came by to thank you for following me (and I do!) but more importantly – thank you for letting me know about you.
